Jasmine, honeysuckle, and skin warmed by candlelight — the slow part of the night, written down.
Read it once. Do it slowly. The pace is the point.
On the bedside table, never higher than your shoulder. Let it burn for the full first quarter of the evening. Jasmine takes a beat to bloom.
Light the massage oil candle while the first is throwing scent. Wait for a generous warm pool — fifteen minutes minimum. Cooler than wax, never hot.
Becoming Love was the first candle I made for somebody other than my clients. It's a love story to softness — jasmine for the romance, honeysuckle for the memory, patchouli to keep both of them honest. The massage candle is the second act. Burn them in that order and the evening writes itself.
Test the warmth on your wrist. Then tip the pool into your palm and work it slowly into the shoulders, the collarbones, the inside of the elbow.
Once the oil has settled, press a coin of lotion over the same skin. The scent will hold through the night.
A short, scented threshold between the bed you left and the day you owe nothing to yet.
